The Critical Lens

The critical lens that "Literature is at bottom of criticism of life" by Mathew Arnold. In my opinion the authors of stories use literature to tell and critize other people behaviors. In the story "The Sniper" by Liam O'Flaherty, the plot of the story is used to critize the sniper, he says that the sniper had the feelling and the spirit to be used to kill people. One day in the dark he kills one of his enemies in the civil war. For some reason he felt remorse after killing someone. He goes back to see whom he has killed. He found out it was his brother. The author in this story is critizying war and saying killing is wrong.
